The context:
It was 1942 when the first Valtellinese Agricultural Almanac was published. The aim of the Almanac was to spread knowledge, tools, advice, updates, and information on everything related to the world of agriculture—and beyond. Today, more than 80 years later, the Almanac continues its annual publications, covering a wide range of topics connected to the environment, nutrition, animal life, and the cultural traditions of our region. The Valtellinese Agricultural Almanac offers a rich calendar of sowing schedules, moon phases, fairs, festivals, holidays, zodiac signs, and local farm stays. It is further enriched with articles on the environment, agriculture, culture, and wellness, as well as curiosities and practical tips.
The project:
As a Graphic Designer at Tipografia Bonazzi, I was responsible for the layout of the 2024 edition of the Agricultural Almanac. I designed a graphic style and page layout that enhanced both the readability of the content and the overall user experience of the magazine. I also restored and highlighted the historical logo of the Almanac—which had been lost over the years through various design changes—bringing back its original identity. In addition, I revised the typefaces used for titles and body text, harmonizing them with the updated visual identity, which was inspired by the magazine's classic design heritage.
