This is one of my favorite quotes about the artist’s craft.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve never really defined myself as an artist (some people say I am, but I find that \u201clabel\u201d far from accurate), but I absolutely love art in general\u2014studying famous works, visiting museums, and so on.<\/p>\n

I have a deep passion for watercolor painting, and in particular, I love painting landscapes of the mountains where I grew up, which for me represent home.<\/p>\n

I love this technique for the lightness of the gesture, and for the immediacy of expression it allows, as a few simple touches can bring depth and realism to the scene. While I paint these places, I recall the sensation of being there, immersed in nature.<\/p>\n

My watercolors aren’t technically perfect, but with each attempt, I learn something, and simply painting landscapes has taught me to observe the landscape more attentively, searching for something from which to draw inspiration.<\/p>\n

I always aim to capture something unique about the atmosphere of the place and convey it to the viewer, trying to make them feel as if they were there (I actually, when I look back at my watercolors, fly with my thoughts to that place).<\/p>\n

Lastly, my pieces are always painted from a photograph, so I\u2019m also working on improving my photographic technique, and maybe in the future, I\u2019ll post some shots here.<\/p>\n
